Alaska/Canada 2022-3: Dirt, Mosquitoes, Spiders, and the Arctic Circle

June 29-July 1, we drove from Dawson City about 45 miles then 250 interesting miles up the dirt/gravel Dempster Highway to the Arctic Circle

No We Are Here! Arctic Circle picture for us. While Marilyn swatted the hordes of mosquito greeters while
getting a couple pics…

...Doug attempted to diminish thenumbers that occupied the van when Marilyn got out.

Driving back south we decided to camp at Tombstone Territorial Park along the Dempster. Our campsite was one of the most beautiful spots we have ever camped, right on the North Klondike River, so we decided to stay a second night before heading back to Dawson City.

The van is now officially a Yukon/Alaska car as just 20 miles from the end of the Dempster—after 530 miles of dirt and gravel—a truck threw up a stone that made a nice spider in the windshield.

Overall the 550+ miles of dirt was grand, with wonderful scenery.

    1. We’ll have to eliminate the spider when we get home. And you are welcome! Thank you for following our blog!
